The Most Interesting Man in the World
This may be the best ad campaign of the year. Here is a list of all the one-liners I could find:
- The police often question him, just because they find him interesting.
- His beard, alone, as experienced more than a lesser man’s entire body.
- His blood smells like cologne.
- “Fellows, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pocket, you better use them to call the tailor.” -tmimitw
- “See those nuts? They are there to make us thirsty. While I don’t like being coerced, in this case I shall make an exception.” -tmimitw
- “Find out what it is in life that you don’t do well, and then don’t do that thing.” -tmimitw
- His reputation is expanding faster than the universe.
- He once had an awkard moment, just to see how it feels.
- He lives vicariously, through himself.
- On Pick-Up Lines: “There’s a time and a place for them. The time, is never. You can figure out the place on your own.” -tmimitw
- On the Two Party System: “The after party is the one you want.” -tmimitw
- His charm is so contagious, vaccines have been created for it.
- Years ago, he built a city out of blocks. Today, over 600,000 people live and work there.
- He is the only man to ever ace a Rorschach test.
- Every time he goes for a swim, dolphins appear.
- Alien abductors have asked him, to probe them.
- If he were to give you directions, you’d never get lost, and you’d arrive at least 5 minutes early.
- His legend precedes him, the way lightning precedes thunder.
- He’s a lover, not a fighter, but he’s also a fighter so don’t get any ideas.
If you find anymore, feel free to post them in the comments. I’m determined to have the go-to blog post for the most interesting man in the world one-liners.
Stay thirsty, my friends.
Here is another interesting man, just for kicks…
What I Did Last Week
Well, you may or may not have noticed that I haven’t had a post in a while. That’s mainly because I wasn’t even in the state last week. For the first time in my life, I went to Hawaii, Kauai to be exact.
The Weather: 80 degrees, day and night, rain or shine
Activities: Helicopter tour (yes, I saw where they filmed Jurassic Park and Raiders of the Lost Ark), Boat tour, Snorkeling, Ziplining, Luau, and eating.
Here are some photos of our adventure (there should also be a video on facebook if you can find it):
The Evolution of Technology
This is how it all started…
Remember how a couple years ago they came out with the technology to surf the web on your TV? They made it look real easy. You just take your wireless keyboard and mouse, and surf the web in your living room. It was so easy that no one did it.
Technology has come a long way since then, let alone what you saw in the video. It’s funny how it started as a sharing/social platform, talking about football and philosophy since that is the new craze of today, i.e. Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, Youtube, etc.
Really, I’m not saying alot, but it’s pretty amazing to see how far technology has come. Today (on Twitter), I found an article about this new TV coming out from Vizio. This is a nice integration of many of the things we do today. For those of you who aren’t quite bleeding edge, this may be a little stunning, but my advice to you is just give it time. The pattern I have noticed for technology is this: create something new/cool, create another something new/cool, combine those things, make them better, create something new/cool, etc. We create a lot, then we integrate. If you wait long enough, you can probably just replace your tech at the integration point and be ok, that is if you don’t want to be at the bleeding edge of course (which some people just can’t stand). Here is a little sneak peak of what to expect:

Mr. Guiles’ New CD
My friend, and my wife’s 7th grade English/Quest teacher, Steven Wesely Guiles is releasing his new CD tomorrow, We Will All Be Lifted. He has some good stuff on this CD. To listen to some tracks, check out his MySpace page or CD Baby, where you can also buy it.
If you have no faith in produced CD’s because of the past incidents, come hear him live at Home Brew Coffee in San Dimas tomorrow night and he can prove to you that he can sing.
If you like this music, also check out Push Start Wagon.
The End.
A Writer, A Singer, A Creator
One thing I’ve come to learn about myself over the last couple years is that I love to write. I like to be able to express my thoughts, make myself laugh, and pretend that I know a whole lot about everything. Writing sometimes makes me look and feel much smarter than I actually am and I like that. Some may call this self deception, I call it mind your own business. The truth is that I think one of my dream jobs would be to write for a company like Wired, Fast Company, or Inc. Sure, I don’t have a fancy degree in english or communications, but that’s what editors are for.
I’m convinced if they gave me a chance, I could do. Not to mention, I’d be privvy’d to the latest and greatest tech gizmos which = awesome and get to co-write with awesome people. How ’bout it guys? I’ll be right here if you ever want to take a chance on me.
More recently than the last couple years, more like the last couple months, I have found that I like to write music. Granted, my songs arn’t the most sophisticated songs you’ll ever hear, but that’s because I’m a niche song writer. My second dream job (which is really my first) would be to lead worship at a church somewhere. I’m not talking Chris Tomlin big (which still would be awesome), but more like 1,500 strong with an emphasis on the 24-40’s…that would be sweet.
My last dream job really is a dream I think. I would probably pee in my pants if I could get a job with Apple’s creative team. Coming up with new product designs and ad campaigns would not be a job for me…it would be like a hobby, that I would get paid for.
All these things have something in common…they involve creating. Taking something from pure concept to reality. That’s what I want to do.

Kobe vs. Lebron
This might be the best part of play0ffs so far for me. There’s really nothing more I can say. I guess I can talk about the MVP award or something, but that would only be distracting from the best part of this post which is the video that follows. The funny thing is that you are intrigued by what I am writing, as if I am going to say something important and profound, possibly even pertinent to the post, and therefore feel the need beyond a nagging compellment to keep reading…just in case. Your gut tells you that you’ve had enough and are just going to skip to the video at this point, but really you won’t. You have to the know the truth. The truth, however, is far from this. Everything I have written has, and will continue to be, a distraction. Enjoy the video. Unless you still feel morally obligated to read what is written, and maybe even click a few of the links.
Love Story Meets Viva La Vida
*First of all, this is not another one of the posts where someone talks about Coldplay stealing the melody for their hit song from someone else because that would be boring*
After a great conversation with some of my friends the other day about the composer who did the music for Star Trek, I have been thinking about composition a lot more. Rarely have I realized how much better a movie can be with good composition or vise versa. Check out this great arrangement that my wife found for me by Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson.
Star Trek: The Movie
This weekend, I went to the Cinerama down at the Arclight theater in Hollywood to see the opening of Star Trek the movie. I have never seen an actual episode of Star Trek, nor did I I know any of the characters before the movie outside of those famous few like Scotty, Spock, and Captain Kirk. I have never even seen any of the 10 or so other Star Trek movies either, and for those reasons, I think I was the target audience.
J.J. Abrahms did an amazing job with this movie. All the stigmas that have been attached with enjoying Star Trek are erased with this action-packed, entertaining, comediac, and dare I say “cool” new version of Star Trek. It’s sort of like the way Batman was reinvented with Christian Bale in Batman Begins. I don’t think I was ever bored, Chris Pine, Eric Bana, and Zach Quinto were outstanding, and when it was done I added all the Star Trek movies to my Netflix list.
Congratulations J.J., you have succeeded in sucking in a new generation of Star Trek lovers. Please don’t let the next movie suck.
